Collector's Calais

The very first iteration of the then newly-formed APV or (advanced performance vehicles) was established soon after Peter Brock and GMH parted ways. Roughly 40 ex Bertie Street HDT employees - under the leadership of ex HDT Director Jeff Hughes, formed a short lived company to look after HDT owners and their cars. This then lead APV into developing their own standalone Commodore offering, to battle the likes of HSV. Here we have the first lot of the line: build 001 - stamped July 1987 - with the original build plate. Back in 1988, it appeared in Car Australia Magazine, and at the time it had covered 28,000 km's of testing for APV.

APV body kit
APV spoiler
Momo steering wheel
Engine enhancements - which over the years has lead to the original engine being rebuilt and stroked to 355ci - then fuel injected.
Genuine ROH APV wheels 15x7 - wrapped in brand new Toyo R888 semi slick tyres.
Factory Holden radio cassette
Original Scheel interior - which presents fantastically for its age.
Freshly re - painted front bumper bar, rear bumper bar, bonnet and spoiler (This has been done to freshen the car up from a few marks and road wear and tear - not from being in an accident.)
Over time the suspension had been upgraded, front and rear - including struts, shockers and springs.
Slotted rotors and heavy duty brake pads have been fitted - upgrading the standard Calais fit-out.
A rear sway bar has been fitted
High flow exhaust
The diff was upgraded for the new higher power output.
